When to sow Rosemary in the UK
Rosemary is sown to the calendar rather than to the frost, so the window is much the same wherever you garden in the UK.
Sowing and harvest dates by region
Rosemary is grown to the calendar rather than to the frost, so the same dates apply across the whole UK and every region below reads the same. Where a plant’s timings do follow the frost, Plot shifts them from the Midlands and Lowland Wales baseline using Met Office average frost dates.

Growing notes
A woody evergreen shrub, hardy through most of the UK to about -8C and nearly always bought as a plant; allow at least 45cm between plants, or a pot 30cm wide and deep with sharp drainage. It hates wet roots in winter, so move pots into a rain shadow and clip lightly each year after flowering to keep it bushy.
