When to sow Mooli (Daikon Radish) in the UK
Mooli (Daikon Radish) is sown to the calendar rather than to the frost, so the window is much the same wherever you garden in the UK.
Sowing and harvest dates by region
Mooli (Daikon Radish) is grown to the calendar rather than to the frost, so the same dates apply across the whole UK and every region below reads the same. Where a plant’s timings do follow the frost, Plot shifts them from the Midlands and Lowland Wales baseline using Met Office average frost dates.

Growing notes
Sow these oriental radishes from midsummer, spacing 15cm apart, and harvest the long white roots in late summer and autumn; sown too early they bolt instead of swelling. Roots can exceed 30cm, so they need deep, stone-free soil or a deep pot. Rotate with the brassicas, not with carrots.
